U.S. Rep. Capuano Receives Additional Subcommittee Assignment

July 1, 1999 -- 8th District U.S Representative Michael Capuano, a member of the House Committee on Science, has been named to the Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics.

This subcommittee reviews all matters relating to astronautical and aeronautical research. This includes activities of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and its government-operated laboratories. The subcommittee also reviews all matters relating to space exploration and activities associated with outer space. Rep. Capuano is also a member of the Science Committee's Subcommittee on Technology.

"I am looking forward to this subcommittee assignment because it will give me the opportunity to learn a great deal more about our nation's space program," Rep. Capuano stated.
