Congressman Capuano Receives Subcommittee Assignments, Opens District Office
January 29, 1999 -- 8th District Congressman Michael Capuano, a member of the House Banking Committee, has been named to both the Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity as well as the Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Securities and Government Sponsored Enterprises. Democratic Leadership also named Congressman Capuano to the House Committee on Science.
The Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity focuses on a variety of issues such as community development block grant money and expiring use developments. The Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Securities and Government Sponsored Enterprises focuses on securities activities and futures markets as well as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
"I am looking forward to these assignments and using the knowledge gained to better serve the residents of the Eighth Congressional District," Congressman Capuano stated.
